Three posts are available for exceptional researchers keen to improve the lives of people with spinal injuries. In the supportive and diverse research environment of UCL, these postholders will have the opportunities to undertake research in the field of disability science in general, while also developing assistive technology solutions to help specific patient groups. These positions will be joint positions based in the Aspire Centre for Disability Science, in collaboration with the UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science, UCL Faculty of Engineering Sciences and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). The postholders will play a key role in the development of disability science in general and assistive technology for spinal injury people.

The appointments will be made at an early stage of the redevelopment of the hospital and bioengineering initiatives within UCL and offers an exciting and unique opportunity to participate fully in the provision of a bioengineering discipline in UCL, supporting translational research and teaching developments in assistive technology.

The postholder must have a PhD and/or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications in quality peer-reviewed journals. Experience of working in a Biomedical Engineering environment, experience of high quality academic research in the field of rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology and the ability to attract grant funding for research are all essential.
